KÉK Community Gardens

Western Europe and the Americas have a decade-long tradition of community gardens, in Budapest this kind of civic self-organization had not yet been established.

The KÉK community garden project was created to introduce bottom-up community gardens in Budapest and give an example of environmental responsibility and a sustainable way of life. The project will simultaneously improve the city’s public space, social cohesion and health of the visitors of the garden. The project aims to include local city dwellers locals, active young people, individuals or non-governmental groups, green organizations and their sympathizers, families do not have your own garden, schools and nurseries and seniors.
