De Ceuvel
Korte Papaverweg 2 , 1032 KB Amsterdam

On a polluted former ship wharf in the North of Amsterdam the initiators of De Ceuvel are building a sustainable workplace for creative and social enterprises. The entrepreneurs hold office in redundant house boats that were brought to shore and became creatively refurbished. In between the houseboats a bamboo board walk winds through an oasis of high grass a plants, specially selected for their soil cleansing potential. Through a process of phytoremiation the soil will be cleaned.

The land is temporarily secured through a 10-year lease from the Municipality of Amsterdam after a group of initiators won a tender to turn the site into a regenerative urban oasis.

De Ceuvel hosts a public café and restaurant, and inspiring enterprises such as Metabolic, the Dutch Weed Burger, We the CityBootbank and many more!
