From the 5th of May until the 7th of May, the third edition of ‘Funding the Cooperative City’ will take place. Find more information about the event below or on the website of EutropianFunding the Cooperative City – Rome is part of the Funding the Cooperative City series, bringing together protagonists of emerging community-led real estate development projects from all over Europe in a series of workshops and joint research. The project’s objective is to highlight the potentials of new, community-based logics of urban development, and to inspire new commitments and frameworks enabling similar experiments to unfold. Funding the Cooperative City focuses on the post-welfare transition of today’s European societies: with austerity measures and the financialization of real estate stocks and urban services, the gradual withdrawal of the state and municipal administrations from providing certain services and maintaining certain spaces have prompted citizen initiatives and professional groups to organise their own services and venues.
